Reflect

Notice that the whole list of virtues here rests on one foundation: you are already God's chosen, holy, and beloved. You do not put on compassion and forgiveness to earn a place in his family; you put them on because that place is already yours by grace. This changes everything, because your gentleness toward others becomes an overflow of the tenderness God has poured into you.

The measure of your forgiveness is not the size of the offense against you but the depth of Christ's forgiveness of you.
