Who makes this, and how
I’m Andy — one developer and believer, in Indiana. Dig Deeper started because I wanted to spend unhurried time in the Word and kept wishing the study material were closer at hand: the history behind a passage, the cross-references, the Greek and Hebrew under the English, without needing a shelf of commentaries to find any of it.
How a devotional gets written
Modern tools do the legwork of study — gathering and cross-referencing what faithful teachers have said, pulling the lexical data, drafting in the voice of the expository tradition. That part is honest work and I don’t hide it: these devotionals are written with AI assistance, shaped within the tradition of preachers like Spurgeon, Matthew Henry and Ryle.
What the tools do not do is decide what publishes. Every day is read by me before it goes out. I check it against the passage, cut what overreaches, and hold it to the plain sense of the text. When something can’t be said faithfully, it doesn’t ship.
Scripture is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Every passage on this site is checked against the WEB text mechanically before it can publish — a study whose wording drifts from it is held back rather than corrected quietly. That check exists because it caught real errors: passages that had been generated from a copyrighted translation while labelled as public domain. Nothing reaches this site until the text is genuinely what it claims to be.
What it costs
Nothing. Every devotional, every lesson, every download on this site is free and always will be — no account, no email wall, no “unlock the rest”. I charge only for custom work: a personalized plan for an individual, or a branded app built for a church. That side is here.
Corrections
